Your type of Life Success
11,January 2009
Last week, on Mont-Royal, I saw a robbery in a small fruits shop. A young man, well-dressed, was stealing fruits in his bag… Was he broke? Are we gonna see more of these?
In the context of the Financial crisis, which puts us all through a different level of questioning, I wish to think more about Life Choices, Life Coaching and Life purpose. Everytime I open my TV, – and I do not open it often-, i hear bad news about the economy and it makes me think.
In the blog post Who is your tribe?, I was asking you what your 2009 goals were. I came across the Lifestyle Coach Blog article about success and thought it completes well that previous article bringing the success angle.
The six types of successes help us figure out what we value and analyze the worthiness of our everyday work/life/objectives. Here there are:
1) The Puritan: proving yourself via working as hard as possible.
2) Materialistic: work towards luxury, power, money and possession.
3) Power: gain as much control as possible.
4) Spiritual: Staying connected to our spiritual realm, chi, religious belief, the center of oneself, whatever it is for you.
5) Contributor: work to create a better world for other people and future generations.
6) Escapist: have as much fun and as many peak experiences as possible.
I think we can gravitate in different phases of these “categories” depending on where we are in our current life. At some point, we also have bigger or smaller egos.
