Social Media Strategy Digest

For all those who are fond of Social Media Strategy, here is the list of the most pertinent articles on that topic I fell on this week:

The Second New Facebook homepage:

Facebook Does it again! Oops!  I will start by highlighting the comments on the new Facebook homepage (as tracked via Twitter search) which mostly seems to say that Facebook  seems to have copied Friendfeed and Twitter microblogging interfaces, since these interfaces are popular.  Read a negative review about the new homepage.

Foreshadowed.  This seemed to have well in Facebook’s plans, if we consider the “sneak preview” that the  CNN coverage of Obama’s inauguration seemed to announce, via a really well done integration with Facebook, to let us actually LIVE the inauguration with our closest community (ies) – summarized here  by Mashable .

Disrupt his brain. Good timing.  Might as well do it now, while we are forcefully getting used to see change on the new Facebook interface.  [Which reminds that sometimes, not listening to the customer voice (Fb anti-new page groups protest and Flick no video protest group) is not the way to go.   Design for what the "customer/user" has no idea he would/will like ].  Disrupt his brain.
