Guy Kawasaki talks “Twitter” in Vancouver, CA

Since I last attended Guy Kawasaki‘s presentation in Montreal at Capital Innovation, i just fell on this great video in which Guy gives the details for his love of hockey that he started at 48 years old.

This Californian entrepreneur also says that “he is a Canadian trapped in a Hawaiian body.” Way to go.    He also says he uses “Twitter as a weapon. Even though some people might think it is capitalistic.”  You can follow Guy Kawasaki on Twitter.

Step 1: Having great content and great links.

Step 2: Follow people who follow you on Twitter. He uses tools to  immediately follow people who will follow him, and unfollow people who would unfollow him.

Step 3:  How often are you Retweeting?  ”ReTweeting, most commonly known as “RT” is the ultimate flattery for your community”, says Kawasaki.  On the web site called Retweetist,  Tweme, Guy Kawasaki and Mashable are among the top “retweeted”.

Step 4: Use StumbleUpon to find interesting articles on specific topics, so your followers enjoy reading your relevant content and you can be retweeted.

I would add that there is lots of work implied…  If you have a job, you might need an army to Tweet for you,  called “ghost twitterers”, just like Guy Kawasaki does, AND a good reputation in your specific niche/field.  Otherwise, there is no way you can make the top of that list.

Hint: for the curious ones, I also love hockey as I played for two years (hockey on ice) at Jean-de-Brébeuf college.
