How Wordle tells me that this blog is about Innovation

As What you do defines you,

As What you focus on defines you,

As What you think about defines you,

So does it for your blog.

I wished to test Wordle and  figure out if the main focus of my blog is really what I say it is, or what I want it to be.  I named my blog around my name + Social Media Strategy.    I made this choice, based on my background as a Social Media Product Manager, that is what I did for over 4 years as well as other things, like Strategy, Business Development, Marketing and PR 2.0.

But, what Wordles tells me, is that my focus seems to be more on Innovation.  And this is true, I have to admit that I have grown obsessed by Innovation, by Business Modeling, innovative thinking and vision.  As well as Video, Twitter, and venture capital investment.  You can see the original Kathelinejeanpierre.ca  cloud tag on Wordle.  It is still weird that in my Blog Tag Cloud Social Media is the most tagged, and innovation shows up as really small.  My mistake here might have been not to have tagged my posts accordingly. I speak more about Innovation than I tag my content.

Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

Last word about this.  I notice that my focus has changed. I tested the Kathelinejeanpierre.com url in Wordle (you can read the full story about what has happened to that url) and my focus, back then was more on Blogging, marketing and Michelle Blanc ! (a lot of things have happened to her this year, might be the reason behind that).

Read Kim Vallée’s interesting tips about blogging.  Especially this one about having a Blogging mentor.   I like the part where she asks us:

“What are Your Goals?

Whether you do it yourself or outsource your blog integration, the first thing you need to do is to write a program that clearly expresses:

  1. the mood you wish to create, the style you aim for
  2. where you wish to bring your brand (a blog is brand). I believe that you must design for the future, not the past and to define your needs and the features you wish to have. Do not forget to specify the maximum width of your layout and other technical issues.  ”
I will redesign my blog in the upcoming months and clean it up.  Just need to take the time after work, gym and my master degree writing!

  1. Wordle analyzes your latest posts to create the clouds. I may use it every couple weeks to validate my editorial. Thanks for introducing it.
One last thing: I am glad my post was helpful.
