About Gratitude
I love watching this video, not for my obvious love of music, but for the story , thus the storytelling that this artist Eminem is trying to tell. It is not just an ordinary Eminem video. It is his comeback on the music scene.
He speaks his guts about gratitude towards his mentor and “doctor” Dr Dre.
About taking risks
When you think about it, Dr Dre took risks to launch this new artist, back then, Eminem, this little white boy with blond hair from Detroit. Risks for his reputation. He took risks because he could feel the potential of this new and different looking talent. He took risks, because Dr Dre has the street AND industry credentials. He has been on the rap scene for ages. Part of the legendary Eazy E, Tupac and Snoop. He took his street creds and endorsed Eminem. Huge at the time. The next white boy after the most know white rapper, Vanilla Ice. A different kind of rapper, of course.
What risks are you willing to take for a new business or a new project? Who are you willing to take the heat for as a VC, friend, mentor? Will that person be grateful to you afterwards? Do you care?
Gratitude and taking risks are two realities that an entrepreneur needs to manage. If you make it big like Eminem did, then you have to be grateful to the one who helped kick it of, Dr Dre, or your business mentor (s).
Why be grateful? For 10 000 reasons. Among which, sending good vibes to the Universe and being truthfully thankful for the help, support and love in all shapes. But also because, you never know when you will need your Doctor again…. A good lesson for the soul. The soul of an entrepreneur or intrapreneur or business person or human in you.
Note: See the plug for the HP tablet. Of course, somebody has to pay for the car crash at the beginning, a necessary luxury for a comeback on the hot scene and hot seat!
