2009 Technology Predictions: Why listen to them?

One interesting aspect of these Roadshows is that Brick and Mortar enterprises, as well as more Information Technology enterprises will be meeting to discuss, exchange, ask questions and challenge these technology predictions.

Part of that event’s goal is to get cross-industry conversations. It is also a good occasion to see the IT consulting excellence pool that we have in Canada, Montreal and Toronto.

It is a great exposure for consultants to showcase the value and the ROI of Internet initiatives, particularly in turbulent times. *That is just a personal opinion/insight, from me, Katheline Jean-Pierre, not from any firm, affiliation or association. *

See you there. Continue reading

2008 Top Ten Articles on this Blog

In 2008, here are the top blog post that caught your interest, 9 out of 10 are in french. I am always surprised to see that the Top 1, L’évolution du commerce de détail: l’industrie du vêtement, that speaks about the Evolution of the retail industry and the future of the clothing industry with emerging new business models, having more of a social media focus is certainly a trend to watch.

The shopping aggregator Glimpse.com (& thefind.com) is amongst the innovative discoveries. Its motto: What can we find for you?

While interesting, it does not fully aggregate the deep shopping Web. When I look for Nacara Cosmetics (http://www.nacaracosmetics.com/), which is a small brand originating from Montreal (and, yes, it is the foundation that I use… I could add one of my best kept secrets). I do not find it. Of couse, this website introduction is in flash and with music! That certainly does not help. Continue reading

Via his blog, I also discovered this interesting website for Ex-Yahoos who were laid off, the PurplePeoplecollective.com . Some ex-Yahoos looking for gigs or jobs and available for hire have user profiles posted. If you are hiring, it is good to know. Continue reading
